Apparatus

Welcome to the Juniper Flat apparatus page.  The engines and support vehicles generally are built to our specifications or modified to fit our needs.  The wildland engines, in particular, have been modified with bumper nozzles and monitors controllable from inside the cabs of the vehicles to allow operators to make high speed initial attacks without exiting the engines.  This feature is both safer for the volunteers and more successful for controlling fast moving fires in open grassland with a relatively small volunteer force.
